LEGAL
Terms of Service
Effective date: September 22, 2026. These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of Grail Ranger websites, apps, and related services (the "Services"). Grail Ranger is operated by Grail Ranger LLC, a Colorado limited liability company ("Grail Ranger," "we," "us," or "our"). Grail Ranger is the product brand. Grail Ranger LLC is the legal name of the company that operates it.
This notice is written for a US marketplace context. It is not legal advice. If you do not agree with these Terms, do not create an account or use the Services.
1. Agreement and eligibility
By selecting "I agree" during registration, creating an account, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract under US law. The Services are directed to users in the United States.
2. The Services
Grail Ranger is a bounty-style marketplace for scarce sports cards and similar collectibles. Depending on how you use the Services, you may act as one or more of the following:
- Buyer: you post a Hunt and, if a deal is reached, pay for a card sale.
- Ranger: you help find a current seller and may earn a Finder's Fee when our qualification rules are met.
- Seller: you verify possession and may sell the card through a deal on the platform.
- Funder: you are invited to pay a sale on behalf of a Buyer.
We may review ownership evidence, pause activity, or refuse a transaction. Features, fees, and payment rails can change as the product evolves.
3. Platform role
Grail Ranger provides software that helps users find cards, negotiate, pay, ship, and settle. We are not the buyer or seller of the card. We are not a bank, licensed escrow company, auctioneer, insurer, or grading company. We do not take title to cards listed or sold through the Services.
The contract for a card sale is between the Buyer (or Funder) and the Seller. The contract for a Finder's Fee, when one is earned, is between the Buyer and the Ranger, facilitated by the Services. Stripe, EasyPost, and similar vendors process payments and shipping on their own terms. Their rules also apply to those services.
4. Accounts and security
You must provide a valid email and keep your credentials confidential. One natural person per account. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly if you believe it was compromised. We may refuse, suspend, or close accounts that appear shared, automated, or used to evade a prior suspension.
5. Buyer duties
You must post accurate Hunt details and honor fees and sale totals displayed at checkout. If a Finder's Fee is due under our qualification rules, you authorize us to charge your saved payment method. If a sale is agreed, you authorize us to collect the displayed buyer total (card price, marketplace fee, and any postage or insurance you selected). After delivery you must inspect the card within the inspection window shown in the deal. If you do not dispute in time, we may release the Seller payout.
6. Ranger duties
You must submit honest finds. Do not fabricate leads, impersonate a seller, or misuse invite tokens. A Finder's Fee is earned only when our qualification rules say so (for example, a verified path through your invite, and not a self-referral). Some Hunts pay a Finder's Fee only if the seller sells. You are responsible for any taxes on amounts paid to you.
7. Seller duties
You represent that you own the card or are authorized to sell it, that it is not stolen, and that evidence you submit is genuine. If you agree to a deal, you must ship with the platform shipping label when the deal uses platform shipping, or complete an agreed in-person pickup. Pack the card so it can survive transit. Do not write "collectible" or similar on the exterior when we instruct otherwise.
8. Funder duties
If you claim a funding invite, you may pay the sale total as invited. Claiming an invite does not make you the owner of the card. You must use a permitted payment method and include any wire memo exactly as issued.
9. Fees
Buyers pay a marketplace fee on card sales as shown at checkout (10% under $1,000 and 5% on $1,000 or more of the agreed card price). The Seller receives the agreed card price, not a reduced net, unless we clearly state otherwise. Postage and shipping insurance, when selected or required, are paid by the Buyer and are not added to the Seller payout. The Finder's Fee is the amount posted on the Hunt, plus any platform processing shown at charge time. We may change fees by posting the new amounts in the Services. Posted amounts at the time you confirm a charge control that transaction.
10. Payments and payouts
Payments are processed by Stripe. Available methods (card, ACH, or domestic wire) depend on sale size and configuration. We may hold sale funds until shipping and the inspection window complete. Payouts to Sellers and Rangers use Stripe Connect. You must complete any identity checks Stripe requires. We are not responsible for delays caused by banks, Stripe, or incomplete onboarding.
You authorize us to retry failed charges, to collect amounts you owe, and to reverse or withhold payouts if a payment is disputed, reversed, or suspected to be fraudulent. Chargebacks and ACH returns may result in suspension and collection of the reversed amount plus fees. A Finder's Fee that has already qualified is not refunded just because a later sale falls through, except as we decide in a particular case.
11. Shipping and pickup
For platform shipping, we purchase a prepaid label after funds are held. The Buyer pays quoted postage and any insurance shown at checkout. Live carrier rates can change; if the live rate exceeds what was charged by more than a small tolerance, we may refuse to buy the label until you get a new quote. Unused labels may be voided. Card payments may receive a postage refund. Wire payments may not receive an automatic postage refund.
In-person pickup is an agreement between Buyer and Seller. We do not insure pickup handoffs. You assume the risk of meeting in person.
12. Inspection, disputes, and authenticity
We may review photos or video to reduce fraud. That review is not a grade, appraisal, or guarantee of authenticity, condition, or provenance. After delivery, the Buyer should inspect the card promptly. If there is a material mismatch (wrong card, obvious damage in transit, or clear evidence of fraud), contact us through the deal tools during the inspection window. We may pause payout, request more evidence, or reverse a sale. We do not promise a particular outcome. Third-party grading labels can be wrong or tampered with. You accept that risk when you buy or sell collectibles online.
13. Off-platform contact
Do not take a Hunt, find, or deal off Grail Ranger to avoid fees. Do not share contact details in deal messages to close a sale outside the Services. We may filter messages, cancel deals, forfeit fees, and suspend accounts for circumvention.
14. Prohibited conduct
- Fraud, stolen property, or fake ownership evidence
- Sanctions evasion or payments you are not allowed to make
- Harassment, threats, or doxxing
- Scraping, attacking, or probing the Services
- Creating accounts to evade a suspension
15. User content and evidence
You keep ownership of content you upload. You grant us a license to host, review, copy, and display it as needed to operate the Services, prevent fraud, and resolve disputes. Do not upload content you do not have the right to share. We may retain evidence after a deal ends.
16. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close your account for unpaid Finder's Fees, payment failures, policy breaches, or risk. You may stop using the Services at any time. Surviving obligations (fees already incurred, indemnity, and limitation of liability) continue after the account ends.
17. Intellectual property
Grail Ranger names, marks, and software are ours or our licensors. You may not copy the Services except as needed to use them as offered. Card images and trademarks of leagues, teams, and manufacturers remain those parties' property.
18. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT A CARD IS AUTHENTIC, THAT A USER WILL COMPLETE A DEAL, OR THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
19. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GRAIL RANGER LLC AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST CARDS, OR LOST DATA. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE FEES YOU PAID TO US FOR THE SERVICES IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS. IN THOSE STATES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED.
20. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Grail Ranger LLC and its affiliates from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your content, your cards, your payment disputes, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.
21. Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information. It is part of these Terms.
22. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page and change the effective date. If a change is material, we may also notify you in the product or by email. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
23. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. State and federal courts in Colorado will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief anywhere.
